Providing quality drinking-water is one of the major public health challenges worldwide.

Information systems are an essential tool that facilitates better decision making and allows adequate supervision and control of the quality of water for human consumption.

In close collaboration with the World Health Organization and the United Nations Office for Water, a high level international session, on tools for improving the quality of water for human consumption has been organized, including information systems, programmes on Water Sanitation and Health and guidelines for quality drinking-water.

The main objective of this session is to share knowledge and experience with other countries and international organizations.
